ABOUT

WHAT WE DO

The LGBTQ+ society is a society for Huddersfield university students who identify with any gender/sexuality minority. Our aim as a society is to create an inclusive LGBTQ+ community within the university to make students feel safe and welcomed. We want to increase visiability and awareness of all identities and sexualities and offer our support to all students. We will do this by having fun events and social gatherings, having regular meetings and by taking part in and running our own campaigns.

We have weekly socials and fortnightly meetings every Wednesday to have fun, socialise, and discuss LGBTQ+ related issues. We will also be running other non-alcohol related, free, and one-off events throughout the year. We will also be running identity awareness days at the university.

We have a welfare team to get in contact with if you have any issues that you can contact through tumblr, email or by texting us on the 100% anonymous welfare phone. The phone is anonymous as it has no contact details and after a message is replied to the original message and the reply are deleted.
